Sarah J Maas' Crescent City - What We Know So Far

We are just weeks away from the release of the highly anticipated Crescent City. Throne of Glass and A Court of Thorns and Roses book series writer Sarah J Maas' new epic fantasy series. To celebrate the release I gathered all the information I could find about the book so you can keep up to date with all the info we know so far. the details we've gathered so far have sparked excitement and speculation among the fandom.

One of the intriguing aspects is our main protagonist, Bryce Quinlan, who's described as a half-human, half-fae party girl. Sarah J. Maas has a knack for crafting complex and relatable characters, and Bryce seems to be no exception.

The series kicks off with a gripping murder investigation, throwing Bryce into the center of a dangerous conspiracy. As we follow her journey, we're promised a blend of fantasy, mystery, and romance, all set against the backdrop of a city teetering on the brink of chaos. The snippets of information released so far have left fans eagerly anticipating the unveiling of the intricacies of this new world and the mysteries that await within "Crescent City." Keep your bookshelves ready; this one's shaping up to be a thrilling ride!

1. Origin of the story

Back in October 2019, Sarah Attended the New Your City Comic-Con. In this Interview from the Planel Sarah talks about coming up with the idea for the book, her inspiration was a music piece from the Score of the film Gravity. I think it's pretty amazing how a piece of music can inspire an entirely new world and story and it's always great to find out how authors come up with their stories.

2. The Cover and Imagery

Sarah created an amazing Pinterest Board that features various images that most likely inspired her through writing. It's a very good way to get a visual of the book and the characters.
There are a lot of Urban Fantasy elements, and it's really exciting that there will be werewolves and angels and other magical creatures, unlike her previous work which mostly featured faes.

We already know how the beautiful cover looks like and it has some clues to the story if you pay close enough attention as you can see in this video from Instagram.

3. This is a brand-new series

If you are asking yourself: Is it necessary to read any of Sarah's previous books? and the answer is: definitely not. This is a brand new series with a brand new world and characters and there is no requirement to read the Throne of Glass or A Court of Thorns and Roses series to enjoy Crescent City.

  1. I do not like Sarah J. Maas´s work, but I think she has a good writing style, so I am gonna read it very soon, because this book is also going to be translated into my language this year (which is amazing, usually it takes a year). I am so happy, the cover looks amazing and also all the things that i have heard about it so far.
