Shadow and Bone - Season 2 - TV season (everything we know so far)

Shadow and Bone Season 2

Hello, Grishaverse fans! In this post I have gathered all of the information on the upcoming second season of Shadow & Bone, the hit Netflix show based on two epic fantasy book series by Leigh Bardugo!

Thank you to everyone who shared and supported my round-up post for the first season of Shadow & Bone, Now let's talk about the second season:

Production

We found out on January 13 that production has officially started in Budapest (where season 1 was filmed).

Though those who follow the cast on Social Media could have guessed back on December 11th when Calahan Skogman made an Instagram post announcing he is heading off from Instagram for a while, which prompted many fans in the comments to start speculating since then that it's because he is going back to Budapest to film the second season.

On Thursday,  January 13th the official Twitter account of Shadow & Bone released this new photo of the cast of season 2 (minus Calahan aka Matthias), and by that officially announcing production has started.

Leigh Bardugo will once again serve as a Producer on the new season. Here is what she had to say about the new cast members:

cast

Before we get into the four new cast members, there are 3 actors from season 1 who will become series regulars in Season 2, which means they will have more screen time and story. As reported by TVLINE Those actors are: Daisy Head (Genya Safin), Calahan Skogman (Matthias Helvar) and Danielle Galligan (Nina Zenik).

I am very excited about this news because Nina and Matthias are two of my favorite characters so I am glad we will see more of them in season 2.

Perhaps the most anticipated new cast member was who will play Wylan? The missing link in the Six of Crows gang, well now we have our answer :
  • Lewis Tan as Tolya Yul-Bataar
  • Anna Leong Brophy as Tamar Kir-Bataar
  • Patrick Gibson as Nikolai Lantsov
  • Jack Wolfe as Wylan Hendriks

  • According to Deadline, Season 2 will have 8 episodes
  • A video of the cast  from Twitter:

I have seen Peter Gibson in The OA and he was a good actor, that show was brilliant. I am sure the show wouldn't have cast him if he wasn't right for the part.  As for the other three, I haven't seen the actors in any projects before so I can't judge but they look like a great fit.

All this info was taken from official Shadow and Bone social media and other media outlets, all credit goes to them. I thought it will be informative to put all of the info in one post so I hope you all enjoyed that!
